All Seated in a Barn (ASIAB) is a non profit rescue and rehabilitation organization. The Adoptor represents that the information provided in the application is true and correct. The adoptor agrees that ASIAB does not guarantee the health, temperament, or training of the above described horse or donkey, however, we will be as open and honest to ensure full transparency on the overall well- being and tempermament, training and needs of the horse or donkey. All animals adopted are adopted AS IS.

ASIAB has a commitment to all of its animals and that the interest of the animal is always in the best of intentions. The Adoptor agrees that if she/he is unwilling or unable to care for the animal for its entire lifetime, he or she will contact ASIAB FIRST. ASIAB has a strict NO RESALE/ FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL policy on our adopted horses and donkeys and no breeding policy.

The adoptor agrees to provide the horse or donkey with the necessary vaccinations advised by his/her veterinarian.

The adoptor arees to obtain immediate veterinary care should the animal become sick or injured, and to take full financial responsibility for any veterinary expeses.

If the horse or donkey, for any reason, is picked up by local loaw enforcement or animal control, the Adoptor will contact ASIAB immediately by phone or email.

RELEASE: The Adoptor, his or her spouse, heirs, executors, personal representatives and assings, agree to never bring a claim or suit against All Seated in a Barn. The Adoptor releases ASIAB and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agrents, representatives, contractors, volunteers and successors from all liability arising from the adoption or behavior or actions of the horse or donkey.

I understand that I am committing to care for this horse or donkey for its natural lifespan which can be up to 40 years.

I am financially able to provide for the horse or donkeys needs. This includes food, shelter, supplies, medical needs, etc which can be approximately a minimum of $5000 a year.

I understand that if I move my horse or donkey will make the move with me. If for some reason the horse or donkey cannot go, you will contact ASIAB immediately to make arrangements to surrender the horse or donkey back per the first right of refusal agreement.

I understand that I must comply to all state and local ordinances concerning animal licensing and vaccinations.

I agree to never euthanize, re-home, sell, without first contacting ASIAB.

I understand that ASIAB can reclaim at any time the animal if they feel that the horse or donkey is not being cared for in the manor and standards ASIAB expects.

48 Hour Clause:

I understand that when a horse or donkey leaves ASIAB it is cleared as healthy by our vet. There is a 48 hour window from the time the animal leaves ASIAB and arrives at its new home, where a refund will be issued for the adoption fee if anything happens. After the 48 hour window, ASIAB is no longer financially responcible for any sickness, lameness, change of mind, colic, sudden death and no refund of the adoption fee will be issued.

FOR HORSES ONLY: We recommend, however it is not necessary, a Pre- Purchase Exam done by the adopting party of a horse. this will be done at the adopting party's expense and includes a full work up done by an outside vet and will include blood work, xryas, ultrasounds, a lameness exam etc. The average cost is around $300.

EPM TEST OPTION:

Horses and donkeys can harbor and carry EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis). This is a risk you are taking when owning an equine. You can opt to have our vet do blood work to see if they have been exposed within their lifetime to this parasite. Exposure does NOT mean that they have it. This parasite can be mitigated if the exposure level is high, with treatments provided by your vet at $1000 a month for up to 3 months. The test is around $150.

I DECLINE EPM EXPOSURE TEST (please sign)

By signing and declining the EPM exposure test, you acknowledge that while the horse or donkey may currently show no symptoms, EPM can manifest at any time due to prior exposure or major stress. ASIAB is not liable for any future health issues related to EPM should they arise and no refund will be given.
