Shadowfax is an older Arabian—around 18 years old, sweet, alert, and deeply sensitive. The kind of horse who’s been through enough that he no longer wants anything to do with riding, pressure, or performing for people.
He made that clear from the moment he arrived.
The truth is… Arabians aren’t a popular breed anymore in the adoption world. Pair that with his age and his preference for a quiet life, and he would’ve had almost no chance of making it out of that slaughter pipeline alive. Horses like him are the ones traders count on—light, older, and unwanted by the general public.
Today, Shadowfax lives on pasture with our herd, finally able to exhale. No expectations. No deadlines. No “use” he has to prove. Just grass, sunshine, and safety. He’ll stay with us for as long as he needs—until the right therapy program or a family looking for a gentle companion steps forward.
For now, he’s settling into exactly the kind of life he deserves. A life where his softness isn’t overlooked. A life where he’s safe simply because he exists.
