The moment I saw Cedrick at the auction, I could not stop looking at him.

It is not often you see a Fjord at an auction.

In fact, Fjords are incredibly rare, which made it even more shocking to see him standing there in the middle of the pipeline like he was disposable.

Like I always say… there is always a reason horses end up there.

With Cedrick, there absolutely was.

At some point in his life, Cedrick suffered a major injury — a broken pelvis. An injury serious enough that instead of someone standing by him through recovery, he was ultimately thrown away.

That reality is hard to process when you look at him.

You can tell he was loved at one point.
You can tell he mattered to somebody.
Then somehow, somewhere along the line, that changed.

We rescued Cedrick in December of 2024, and today he remains safely with us as a permanent resident. Due to his injury and the way his pelvis fused during healing, Cedrick lives in a smaller specialized area where he can stay comfortable and safe.

Most importantly… he is not in pain.

He spends his days surrounded by care, consistency, and people who absolutely adore him. Cedrick has become one of those horses everyone falls in love with once they meet him. There is something incredibly special about him.

Maybe it is his resilience.
Maybe it is his quiet kindness.
Maybe it is simply knowing how close he came to losing everything because of an injury he never asked for.

Cedrick deserved better than being discarded.

Now he has a future where he will never have to wonder if he is safe again.
