Lincoln was one of the original bucking horses we stepped in for when he was standing in the direct ship pen — a place where horses wait to be loaded onto trucks headed to slaughter. When he came through the ring, he bucked with everything he had left in him. Not out of aggression… but because he still had fight. He still had spirit.
People watching fell in love with him immediately.
What most saw was a horse bucking. What we saw was a horse refusing to give up.
Lincoln reminded everyone why we do this work in the first place.
